The SRCC’s “Shark River Community Science” program was featured today in an article on APP.com. SRCC Board Member and leader of the Shark River Community Science initiative, Matthew DeAngelis, discussed the program’s goals, impacts and continuing need for volunteer and monetary support - to continue testing to identify the sources of bacterial contamination in Shark River and to deliver that data to municipalities and state authorities for further investigation. The article also includes discussions with SRCC Board Secretary/Treasurer Arlene Sciarappa and Neptune City Mayor Rachel McGreevy on the importance of dredging Shark River to increase water flow to help mitigate water quality issues.
